Rendezvous with Our Bay Area Community
The hard campaigning of our staff throughout the world has led to a number of victories for the world’s rivers this summer. Here at our headquarters in California we’re gearing up to celebrate successes from the Amazon to the Mekong—and you’re invited!
Rendezvous for Rivers, our celebration of International Rivers’ community of River People from the Bay Area and beyond, is set for September 20th. Ticket sales have gone live and I invite you to join us for an evening of dinner, dancing, music and film at the picturesque Lake Chalet in Oakland.
We're lining up an array of DJs who will be spinning world beats for our guests to boogie. In addition to amazing music, we’ll also screen a collection of magnificent films, including Jane Baldwin’s Kara Women Speak. In addition to our entertaining program, we are pulling together what will be a truly one-of-a-kind silent auction, which will include:
- A Comet Skateboard for your urban riding adventures
- Hand-crafted bourbon and tequila infused chocolates
- A day of boating on the Bay
- A Fender Guitar, signed by International Rivers supporter and Grammy-Award winner Bonnie Raitt
- And many more items being added every day!
Tickets are going fast – and for our guests who pre-purchase their tickets, International Rivers’ will be extending 6 months of membership benefits as a thank you for your support of this event. This means you’ll begin receiving our premier publication the World Rivers Review and get invitations to special events, including some brand-new member-exclusives that will be rolled out in 2013.
Join us and buy your tickets to the Rendezvous today!
