Amazon: Defending Rivers and Rights
Here at International Rivers on Friday, March 19th we screened the film "Amazonia: Voices from the Rainforest" by Glenn Switkes and Monti Aguirre, which was followed by a panel discussion on efforts to protect the Amazon River and the forest it sustains. Panelists included Aviva Imhof, Campaigns Director at International Rivers, Leila Salazar-Lopez, Campaign Director and Board Member of Rainforest Action Network, and Monti Aguirre, Latin America Campaigner at International Rivers. Afterwards there was refreshments, music, and great conversation!

Dams: The Effects on Humanity Revealed
The Committee for Human Rights in Latin America organized their annual tour of Quebec, which included lectures and workshops discussing mega dams and the consequences they create for people in Latin America.
