By: Ian Elwood1% For The Planet (1% FTP) is a corporate philanthropy network co-founded by Yvon Chouinard, of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies. The goal of the 1% FTP is to support environmental nonprofits through corporate giving, with each member organization pledging 1% of its annual profits. The network now has over 1,200 members and its model was praised by Fast Company as the "philanthropic gold standard."

Great video
It is an interesting video, surely every little bit helps, but altruism can only go so far. There needs to be mandatory government funding of environmental solutions for anything to happen on a large scale.
