Media Conference

A media conference was held in Brisbane where representatives of the Save the Mary Coordinating Group spoke about reasons they decided to take action in Brisbane and why they proposed the issue of the Traveston Crossing Dam as an election issue.

Taking Mary to the Marginals

Activists and volunteers campaigned in Brisbane in an attempt to change the course of state politics to stop the building of a dam and save the Mary River. Campaigners urged voters to support candidates that opposed the Traveston Crossing Dam. Campaign activities included pamphlet distribution, marginal seat letterbox drops, a rally and sidewalk campaigning. Citizens were encouraged to show support by writing a letter, signing a petition, putting up a sign or attending a rally.
