Protest against Zapotillo Dam
The villagers of Temacapulín, México have graciously offered to host Rivers for Life 3: The 3rd International Meeting of Dam-Affected People and Their Allies.
Holding the meeting in Temacapulín will give a tremendous boost to local communities fighting against El Zapotillo Dam. The 105-meter dam would flood the villages of Temacapulín, Acasico and Palmarejo and disrupt the ecology of the Verde River. Villagers say they will continue to resist the dam to defend their communities, their human rights and their dignity.
By staying in this village, participants of Rivers for Life 3 will have

opportunities to share experiences with people fighting against El Zapotillo Dam. Members of the Temacapulin community have volunteered to host participants in their homes and to help cook meals during the meeting. One of the meeting's primary goals is to strengthen connections amongst members of the movement against dams. We hope this atmosphere will make it a certainty.
