See the Winners of the Wild River Dance Contest

In Spring of 2010 we held a Wild River Dance contest to celebrate free-flowing rivers. Take a look at the main Wild River Dance video and the Wild River Dance Preview below. The video responses that came in were creative and inspiring. The "official" contest is over, but you can still watch them and post your own Wild River Dance video response!

International Rivers created the Wild River Dance Video on the International Day of Action for Rivers on March 14, along with many other actions taking place that day. The video is now live on YouTube.

We made the Wild River Dance preview two weeks before the International Day of Action for Rivers and it passed 1000 views int the first two weeks.  Three video responses came in before the Day of Action!

Here's What to Do

  • Get a video camera. Maybe your mobile phone has one, maybe a friend can film you -- however you can get the footage.
  • Find some water. Bring a few people with you to the closest river, creek, marsh, beach or other body of water.  Is the only nearby body of water a storm drain or a river photo? Go for it!
  • Play some music. If you play a song using a boombox you can record it on the spot, or mix it with the video later to create an excellent music video.
  • Do your favorite Wild River Dance!
  • Post your video to YouTube as a "video response" to our Wild River Dance and tag it "wildriverdance." All you have to do is click the comment box below a video and then click "Attach a Video.

It's Easy

Your video doesn't have to be perfect and you don't need to live near a river.  Tell us about a river near you, or do a dance in front of your webcam. If you already have a dance on YouTube, post that as your response! Make a statement. Be creative!

Anyone can post a video response!

If you need help making a video send us an email!
