Berkeley, California: A dynamic speaker panel followed
a film screening in Berkeley, California, hosted by International
Rivers Network and the Karuk Tribe of California. The documentary,
titled "Solving the Klamath Crisis: Keeping Farms and Fish Alive,"
discussed issues around the impacts of dams and community organization
to promote dam removal in the Klamath River basin.

Salween River: Local villagers in Thailand appealed to
the Thai government to end its cooperation with the Burmese military
junta on five hydroelectric dams on the Salween River. In lieu of a
water shortage, the Thai government has studied plans to build new dams
and reservoirs on the Salween River, which would displace thousands of
people along the Thailand-Burma border.
