And rivers, for me, are symbols both for change, as the water is constantly in motion, as well as for stability: the waters have been flowing down the rivers forever. Now with large dams and climate change, are all our notions of eternity and stability vanishing into thin air? Can we still protect the Himalayas from melting, the Ganges from being dammed?
