SUNGANGES - Film evening for the International Day of Action for Rivers

Event organiser: GRÜNE LIGA e.V. Date and time: 14 March 2018 from 6:00 pm Venue: Heinrich Böll Fundation in Berlin-Mitte. We would like to invite you at the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Berlin-Mitte. We will display the documentary film SUNGANGES by Valli Bindana (80 min., OmenglU), which had its European premiere in January 2018 at the River Film Festival Berlin. The film wills last from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Afterwards, there will be opportunity of exchanging views with experts. "Mom, if the river is not there ... - why are you reading stories about it?". SUNGANGES is a road documentary on the sacred river: a journey through the Indian subcontinent. A film about the Ganges, the dam conflicts in the Indian Himalayas and the future of natural energy supply, which solar and wind are just beginning to discover. Every year, the 14th of March, the International Day of Action of the Rivers, calls to celebrate the world's rivers and have those who campaign for their protection, the successes of dams´ demolition and rivers´ restoration. It is a global day of action: World people demonstrate and gather to remember the essence of our rivers, and to advocate for a responsible use of the element that makes the Earth the blue planet.
