In this series of photographs and video, award-winning Thai photojournalist Suthep Kritsanavarin has chronicled the day to day life of people living near the Xayaburi Dam site on the Mekong River. As the first hydropower dam planned in a cascade of eleven large projects located on the Lower Mekong River mainstream, these photographs depict the beauty and the close interconnection between the river and the life and livelihoods of some of the people whose lives will forever be changed with the building of the Xayaburi Dam.
