The Board of Directors wishes to express our gratitude and appreciation to Isabella Winkler for her dedicated service and significant contributions as Co-Director of International Rivers. Over the past three years, Isabella has played a vital role in navigating the organization through challenging times and implementing substantial positive changes. Her strategic vision and collaborative approach have led to significant improvements across all operational areas. In partnership with Co-Executive Director Josh Klemm, she has produced important improvements to our financial management and reporting systems, created integrated development and communications infrastructure, and brought our human resources processes up to date.
Isabella’s commitment to International Rivers’ mission, willingness to make personal sacrifices, and dedication to building a stronger organization have been invaluable. She has been instrumental in setting International Rivers on a path to sustainable growth and continued impact. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Isabella for her leadership, passion, and unwavering commitment to our work. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
The Board is pleased to announce that Josh Klemm will continue as Executive Director. Josh joined International Rivers in 2014 as Policy Director to lead the work targeting the world’s major financiers and hydropower companies and strengthening environmental and social standards. Josh previously led the Africa Program at the Bank Information Center. Josh has led our programmatic work since becoming Co-Director in 2022, overseeing our regional and policy programs, and has worked alongside Isabella to develop and implement a comprehensive transition plan. We are thrilled for him to continue to build on this progress at International Rivers.
