International Day of Action for Rivers 2015
March 14, 2015 was the 18th annual International Day of Action for Rivers!
Every year, thousands of people around the world lift their voices to celebrate the world's rivers and those who struggle to protect them. The International Day of Action for Rivers is a day to celebrate victories such as dam removal and river restoration and take to the streets, demonstrate and demand improvements in the policies and practices of decision makers. It is a day to educate one another about the threats facing our rivers, and learn about better water and energy solutions. Above all, it is a day to unite – by acting together, we demonstrate that these issues are not merely local, but global in scope. We have the power to protect these vital lifelines if we join together and speak out. This year's Day of Action was such an incredible success! We recorded 125 actions in 44 countries!
Rivers Are in Our Hands
This year by popular demand we've brought back the Rivers Are in Our Hands photo project. Here's how it works:

Be sure to include #RiversUniteUs in your social media post! Check out some inspiring photo examples.
Every year exciting events are planned around the globe in honor of International Day of Action for Rivers.
